The international rating platform EcoVadis awarded us the gold medal for our commitment to corporate social responsibility. We are therefore among the top 5 % of the companies in our industry assessed by EcoVadis. The EcoVadis sustainability rating assesses the areas of the environment, labor and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement. EcoVadis is one of the leading providers of sustainability ratings in the world, and as an independent rating agency, presents defined criteria transparently and measurably. After we received the bronze medal in spring 2022, we worked intensively on CSR topics and are now very happy about this award!

After the first CastForge proved to be a complete success in 2018, the expectations for the trade fair for cast and forged parts with machining in 2022 were correspondingly high. The three days of the trade fair (21/06 - 23/06) at the Messe Stuttgart made good on the earlier promises. One of the key plus points of the event is its orientation to specific target groups, which means that most attendees are interested professionals. The HEUNISCH team was able to welcome many existing customers as well as interested parties to its stand, and would like to thank everyone for the excellent discussions!

Last week, we finally had the pleasure to inaugurate our new low-pressure die casting machine at the Krásná/CZ site. After the construction of a new hall, the machine from the Kurtz company was set up and put into operation in the last construction phase with the help of their technicians. We are very proud of this investment at our aluminium site in the Czech Republic and are now well positioned for future challenges here too. In the picture you can see Dr Christiane Heunisch-Grotz (managing partner of the foundry HEUNISCH GmbH), Stanislav Donatek (managing director of Slévárna HEUNISCH, s.r.o.) and Jürgen Schwarz (foundry manager of Slévárna HEUNISCH, s.r.o.) beaming with satisfaction about the successfully completed project together with their colleagues responsible for the endeavour and employees from Kurtz.

Rolls-Royce Power Systems has again honoured us with the “raw parts worldwide” Supplier Award, this time in bronze. The award was accompanied by a good rating in the categories of quality, costs, delivery reliability, logistics, commitment to environmental protection and conduct with integrity.

We are very pleased about the award, and consider it our obligation to continue to provide the very best for our customers in our daily work.

On 13/11/1980, Wolfgang Heunisch, Gerhard Gerhäuser and Alois Zimmermann founded the HEUNISCH foundry. We are pleased to celebrate our 40th anniversary, even if the actual celebrations must fall victim to the coronavirus pandemic.

Through the efficient use of foundry dust, it should be possible to make even better use of resources in the metal industry. The kick-off event for the ForCYCLE II project network took place on 6 November 2019 in the Max Joseph Hall at the Munich Residence. The project network is financed by the Bavarian State Ministry of the Environment and Consumer Protection and stands for improved resource efficiency in the Bavarian economy, particularly in SMEs and trades.

Christian Gerhäuser were able to celebrate with the long-serving employees on the occasion of this year's honours at the Heunisch foundry.

HEUNISCH presented its range of cast parts in the midst of 2,360 exhibitors at the NEWCAST Trade Fair in Düsseldorf. Together with GIFA, METEC and THERMPROCESS, NEWCAST is part of a quartet of technology trade fairs. With 72,500 visitors from 118 countries, the leading trade fairs in the industry were once again a magnet for specialists.

On 19 March 2019, HEUNISCH was awarded a distinction in the category quality at the AGCO EME Supplier Day in Budapest. The agricultural machinery manufacturer honoured its “Suppliers of the Year” in the various categories. The foundry HEUNISCH now ranks among the three winners in the category quality. Sales Director, Thomas Laue accepted the prize for the foundry’s excellent work in the hungarian capital.

HEUNISCH Foundry has always placed great importance on the training and continued training of their employees. An important step in this area is the in-house training of our future specialists. We have set up a training workshop for our future employees at our headquarters in Bad Windsheim. This will allow our instructors to intensively prepare our apprentices for their working life.

Bad Windsheim (er) Due to the low turnover in staff at HEUNISCH foundry, many employees could be honoured for their 40 or 25 years of service at HEUNISCH GUSS this year too. The two managing partners Dr. Christiane Heunisch-Grotz and Dipl. Ing. Christian Gerhäuser together with Technical Director Dietmar Eckl and HR Manager Ulrike Stahl welcomed the long-serving employees to a small ceremony. Works council chairman Markus Herger also joined the well-wishers.

As of September 2018, cast parts at the HEUNISCH Foundry in Bad Windsheim are being measured using the 3D scanner ATOS Compact Scan. The system contributes towards constantly improving processes at the initial sampling stage, as well as towards optimising the existing cast parts in Production. What’s more, pattern equipment can be inspected for wear and tear.

The comprehensive solution offered by ATOS Compact Scan opens up new areas of application and provides the operator with diverse opportunities in the 3D measurement of cast parts.

By introducing the system, initial sampling capacities are being significantly increased and the work processes at the foundry in Bad Windsheim are being organised even more quickly and effectively.

Since September 2018, employees of HEUNISCH Foundry have had the option to lease a bike / E-bike from their employer. This attractive offer is a way for us to express how much we appreciate the work of our employees. In addition, we want to contribute to environmental protection and hope that lots of our employees will take us up on our offer and use their new bike regularly.

CastForge's debut on the Stuttgart exhibition grounds is already history. HEUNISCH GUSS presented its comprehensive production portfolio alongside 152 other exhibitors from 18 nations from 5 to 7 June, 2018. The trade fair for castings and forgings with processing far exceeded its target of 3,000 visitors over three days and registered 3,700 impressed visitors in total.
